To record yourself while reading a script on iPhone, prepare your talking points, position the phone at a comfortable height, rehearse with the front-camera preview, and record with the text near the lens. Review and export your take before deleting it from the app.
1. Prepare a script you can speak
Create a new script or import a UTF-8 .txt file in Glidecue. Keep your opening short. Add pause cues at the breaks where you want a breath. Script editing and rehearsal are free.
2. Set the phone and the light
Use a stable support and position the phone so you can speak comfortably toward the lens. Face a soft light source where possible. Leave space in the frame for your head and shoulders, and check what is visible behind you.
3. Rehearse with the camera preview
Choose Rehearse → Show camera preview. Set your reading position, width, size, and pace in Text & layout. Keep camera shading low enough to see your face. Switch the text between white and black to suit the scene.
4. Record your take
Recording requires the one-time Glidecue Pro unlock and camera and microphone permission. Open the recording studio, allow access, and start recording. Use the countdown to settle in. Extra controls hide while the script scrolls; tap the script to bring them back.
If you need a moment, use Hold text. The movie keeps recording while the script is held. Stay in the app during the take: backgrounding ends the recording and attempts to save it.
5. Listen before you share
Finish recording to save and review the movie. Listen to the audio as well as watching the picture. Choose Share or save video to export through the iOS share sheet. Your export has no script overlay or Glidecue watermark.
6. Keep the good takes
Export important recordings before deleting the app. Swipe left on an unwanted recording and choose Delete, or use the trash button during playback. You are asked to confirm. Deleting a take in Glidecue does not remove copies you already exported.
